Hi, I'm Sheila-Ann Bender!

I'm an author whose life and writing are rooted in three of God's greatest gifts—faith, family, and the joy of storytelling.

My husband, Gary, and I split our time between our 35-acre home in the beautiful mountains of southern Colorado and the Houston area in my native Texas. Whether surrounded by snowy mountains or Texas Oak trees, we find inspiration in God's creation every day.

Together, we've been blessed with four wonderful adult children and more grandchildren and great-grandchildren than I can almost keep track of! Many of the children in my stories are named after my grandchildren and reflect little pieces of their unique personalities, making each book especially close to my heart.

Like many people, my journey hasn't always been easy. Through life's joys and heartbreaks, one truth has never changed: Jesus Christ has been my constant source of strength. Without Him, I truly don't know where I would be. He is the One who holds my life together—every single day—and my greatest desire is that every story I write points readers toward His love, hope, and truth.

Gary and I also share a lifelong love of animals. Along with raising AKC Rottweilers through our family kennel, All Things Rottie, we've cared for everything from chickens and guineas to horses, donkeys, cats, and, of course, our beloved dogs. Many of the animals in my stories are inspired by the ones that have been part of our own family.

No matter what genre I write—children's fiction, historical works, or inspirational stories—you'll always find themes of faith, hope, kindness, courage, and biblical truth woven throughout the pages. My prayer is that every book not only entertains but also encourages readers to grow in character and draw closer to the God who loves them.
